Digital Music News reported on October 22, 2026 that Sonilo has raised $11 million. The round was led by B Capital, with Redpoint participating.
Sonilo's product is a Sound World Model: generative music and sound effects produced from video footage, matching frame-by-frame timing and emotion, from text prompts, or from both together. The company also offers AI dubbing with lip-sync. The team is heavy with TikTok alumni: CEO and co-founder Shawn Song led multimodal work at TikTok, CTO Alex Yin and COO Keli Li, who built global music at TikTok, and CMO Trista Taylor round out the leadership. Distribution partners include TapNow and ComfyUI, and licensing partner Shutterstock supplies licensed training data with a revenue share. A consumer app is planned for the fourth quarter, and the new funds go to compute, go-to-market and licensing.
WHY IT MATTERS: Scoring is the part of video podcast production that creators most often skip for cost and time. A model that watches the footage and generates timed music and effects, trained on licensed catalog with revenue share, attacks exactly that bottleneck. Podcasters cutting video episodes should expect this capability to arrive inside editing tools quickly, and the licensed-training-data structure is the part of the deal that protects working musicians and libraries.
