Podcast advertising just had its biggest month of 2026. Magellan AI estimates that the top 15 podcast advertisers spent a combined $72.1 million in September 2026, up more than 16% from August's $61.9 million, which had itself been the year's previous high. The figures are Magellan AI estimates, not confirmed spend. Fourteen of the top 15 advertisers increased their spending month over month; the first half of 2026 had held near $60 million a month for the same group.
Quince remained podcasting's biggest advertiser at a new high of $8.1 million, ahead of BetterHelp at $6.1 million, T-Mobile at $5.7 million, Toyota at $5.6 million and DraftKings at $5.6 million on an NFL-season surge. Google rose to $5.5 million and OpenAI climbed to seventh at $5.3 million, after jumping from $174,200 in July to $4.8 million in August. Amazon was the only top-15 brand to cut spending, ranking eighth at $5.3 million ahead of Prime Day. September's total is a new data release, distinct from the August figures PodSubs covered earlier.
WHY IT MATTERS
A broad-based, double-digit jump heading into Q4 is the strongest demand signal podcast sellers have had all year — and it is not one brand carrying the market. When 14 of the top 15 advertisers raise budgets at once, the pitch for independent shows writes itself: demand is widening, not narrowing.
Magellan AI publishes its advertiser estimates monthly; the October figures will show whether the Q4 ramp holds through the holiday buying season.
