The comedy company behind a Frog Town studio and event space launches DSP Podcasts to produce and distribute shows — betting that curated comedy, not AI slop, is what the medium needs.

Drew Spears Productions announced the launch of DSP Podcasts, the podcast production and distribution arm of the comedy company — a Podnews-exclusive press release published September 23, 2026. DSP, started by Drew Spears in 2021, runs a studio and event space in Los Angeles' Frog Town and produces livestreaming events; the new arm will produce and distribute a slate of shows, announced exclusively through Podnews.
Spears' pitch is explicitly anti-commodification: "Comedy has been on the rise through tech and social media, but it's getting served on the same platforms as AI slop and content designed to fry our synapses," he said. "You can either treat comedy like expendable content, or you can treat it like something to be curated and worked for."
Small, scrappy and rooted in a DIY ethic, DSP is led by Spears with Langston Alimayu and Anya Solotaire running operations — built around the idea that a great live show shouldn't disappear when the night ends. This is a launch press release; the initial show slate and business terms were not disclosed.
