Catch-up: Crooked Media has launched Still Counting, a weekly podcast that reunites Nate Silver, Clare Malone and Galen Druke. The official show page describes the program as an attempt to examine what data can and cannot tell audiences about American politics, with topics ranging from elections and polling to betting markets and artificial intelligence.
A preview episode was published September 2, followed by the first regular episode on September 9. New episodes are scheduled for Wednesday evenings. The show’s clearest editorial advantage is the chemistry and shared history of hosts who have previously worked in the same data-driven political media world but do not have to agree on every interpretation.
For podcasters, the launch illustrates the value of defining a show around a recurring intellectual tension. “Politics” is broad. “What do the numbers actually tell us, and where do they stop helping?” is a sharper promise that can guide guest choices, episode structure and audience expectations week after week.
