Brazen raises $2.5M seed round led by Lotus Singapore Group
Project Brazen has taken a US$2.5 million investment from Lotus Singapore Group as part of its Series Seed round, funding new investigations, project development and rights work across The Foundry, Whale Hunting and Brazen FM.

Project Brazen Pte. Ltd., the storytelling studio founded by journalists and authors Bradley Hope and Tom Wright, announced on September 22 a US$2.5 million investment from Lotus Singapore Group as part of its Series Seed round. The company publishes through The Foundry, Whale Hunting and Brazen FM, and says the funds will support new investigations, project development and the legal work around rights and partnerships.
The pipeline shows where the money is aimed: The Foundry, a new digital magazine, began publishing September 18 with Hope's investigation "The Tell" into ex-Supreme Court litigator and poker player Tom Goldstein; "The Missing Masterpiece of Tehran," a Random House Audiobook Original narrated by Christian Coulson, releases September 29; and the development slate includes Fat Leonard, Billion Dollar Whale and The Illuminator with Farah Halime and Stonebaby Productions. The company also notes a strategic relationship with SK Global Entertainment.
Investor capital is still flowing into journalist-founded audio studios, and audio-first IP keeps being developed for screen — a reminder that podcast IP carries option value well beyond the feed. For independents, the lesson is structural: own your IP and your rights position, because that's where the money eventually lands.
