Amazon has rebranded its Kindle Unlimited subscription as Kindle+ and erased the usage division between ebooks and audiobooks, RAIN News reported in October 2026: subscribers can now toggle freely between reading and listening within the same borrowed title, at $11.99 a month for up to 20 titles in the US.

RAIN News reported in October 2026 that Amazon's paid monthly ebook subscription, Kindle Unlimited, has rebranded as Kindle+ and erased the usage division between ebooks and audiobooks.
For subscribers, that means free toggling between reading an ebook and listening to its audiobook edition inside the same borrow. The plan's basic value is unchanged: $11.99 a month buys borrowing privileges for up to 20 titles per month in the US, with access across e-readers and the Kindle app.
Amazon is pairing the change with hardware updates: new Kindle models move to edge-to-edge displays, the base six-inch model at $50 gets faster book opening and a relocated power button, and a new Kindle Click Bluetooth remote page-turner works with Kindles released in 2024 and later.
WHY IT MATTERS: Kindle+ is another step in the read-listen merger that audiobook and podcast audiences already live in: the same subscriber moves between text and audio without friction or extra cost. For podcasters, it is a reminder that listener habits are being trained by the biggest platforms toward seamless audio switching, and that audiobook-adjacent discovery surfaces keep growing inside Amazon's ecosystem.
