The 67th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, running November 5–15, 2026, has added a dedicated podcast section to its program — a notable crossover moment as film festivals recognize audio storytelling as a peer medium.
The podcast section includes two subsections, Competition and Nexus, and invited Greek and foreign podcast creators to submit works, with submissions having run May 15 through August 31, 2026. Entries were required to be mp3 or WAV under 250MB with 1000x1000 artwork.
For podcasters, festival selection is an emerging prestige channel — the same way film festivals shaped cinema, curated festival berths could become a meaningful credential for narrative audio. The Competition and Nexus lineups are worth watching when announced.
